Sketchbook and Visual Notation
Observation and note taking took place and sketchbooks were used on site for visual notation this page contains a selection of these . Written notes were taken in the squares to record thoughts and ideas. Notes and thoughts were recorded quickly on site to discern pedestrian behaviour and key events as they occurred. This also enabled the recording of the researcher’s own spontaneous personal experience of each square investigated. A sketchbook was used to make visual reflections on thoughts and initial ideas for problem solving design projects on site. Simple sketches were also taken in each of the squares to plot key landmarks and data.
